Behind the Scene and other Major Plot Points
The Dirty Dozen
Director David Ayer described this film as a “comic-book version of The Dirty Dozen (1967).”
June Moone’s split personality
Cara Delevingne auditioned for the role of Enchantress by reading for Martha from Edward Albee’s play “Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?” She was asked to read the part in several different ways, in order to reflect June Moone’s split personality. By the end of the audition, she was ready to beat people up: “David Ayer sparked a fury in me, you got to come get me out of jail because I was so furious!”
This film takes place after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
Origins of Killer Croc
Killer Croc is based on his original debut appearance in the 80s (an aspiring criminal kingpin) and his appearance in the “Joker” comic (a huge black man with a skin condition who indulges in cannibalism).
In an interview, director David Ayer said that in this film, a different side of Batman can be seen as he is shown from a villain’s perspective.
Harley and Deadshot
Shortly after arriving in Midway City, Deadshot asks for some help from Harley on an escape plan, and refers to getting some help from her ‘Friend’, the Joker. She replies with ‘You’re my friend too” which may be a possible allusion to Batman: Assault on Arkham, where there was a relationship between Harley, and Deadshot.
Villains from Batman: The Animated Series (1992)
With Harley Quinn and Killer Croc appearing for the first time in a live action film in Suicide Squad (2016), this now means every villain to appear in the famous Batman: The Animated Series (1992) episode Almost Got ‘im has appeared in a live action film. The villains are Joker, Harley Quinn, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc and Penguin.
Arkham Asylum’s gates..
on the movie are identical to the ones from the TV show Gotham.
Full with Easter Eggs
As the movie was made by comic fans, it’s full with Easter eggs considering other comic movies. For example, when Harley Quinn is robbing a necklace she destroys a showcase and the logo of the Watchmen can be seen in the back round.
During Harley’s on screen “stats”..
it briefly flashes that she assisted in the murder of Robin.
The Flash is briefly seen in the flashback to Captain Boomerang’s initial apprehension. In the comics Captain Boomerang originated as a regular villain of The Flash’s, and was part of Flash’s Rogues Gallery.
The temptation that Enchantress uses on Harley Quinn is an idealized romantic fantasy of a “happily ever after” life with Joker and two infants.
Joker & Batman
Despite Batman being in the film, his most famous villain Joker never appears on screen with him. The closest they get is when Batman is on top of a car whilst Joker drives.
Why did Joker kill Monster T?
Because joker is crazy and mr t was checking out Harley
he called Harley a bitch.
I think they realized they needed to show the Joker being CRAAZY early on, because other than him waving the machine gun around later he doesn’t really kill anyone else in the movie.
For looking at Harley and calling her a “bad bitch”. He’s very possessive of her
RT/Meta Critic Review
Really enjoyed this movie especially all the cast like Will Smith and Margot Robbie were best performance in whole movie. (MetaCritic/EvanJesse)
