More Character development for Team North
I wished for more character development for Team North wind but overall I enjoyed more than the kids.
Unified Penguin Continuity Theory
Still looking for a viable Unified Penguin Continuity Theory to bridge the Movies to the TV Show. Any ideas out there? In one of their missions, The penguins are taken to the zoo again, but this time they prefer to stay and make the zoo their barrack; taking inspiration from the team that was in this movie
Has anyone tried to start this war yet?! Marvel and DC, Star Wars and Star Trek, now the Minions and Penguins. I’m leaning for a better Minions.
Penguins for me. They’re much more pleasant to look at and they’re crazy plans that somehow always work keeps me laughing. Plus, penguins are one of my favorite animals.
Minions are good too, they also keep me laughing a lot
Difference between Despicable Me2 and Penguins of Madagascar
I did get that vibe as well once the plan was fully uncovered. I was hoping for something a lot more different, but after thinking about it for a while, the change did seem very appropriate.
It was revenge for a specific species due to their cuteness so turning them into ugly monsters wasn’t very far-fetched. Dave was wanting people to fear what they previously adored, not annihilate them (at least not personally) because where’s the satisfaction in that?
Despicable Me 2 was more about world domination than the villain being against the minions themselves. They were just convenient for the job.
The penguins in freefall going through …
Anyone else have a nagging doubt of the survival chances of those planes passengers that they crashed into/through ?
You know cos any hole in a plane in a movie causes it to fall out of the sky with dramatic stuff happening. (i am over thinking a kids movie)
Was his name Classified as in secret or was that actually his name?
Can someone explain this to me?
I remember at the beginning of the movie the penguins are voiced by adult actors when they are chicks. I find this confusing. Why didn’t they just hire child actors instead of adult actors?
it was to show they were never normal penguins they always have been ‘special’.
Do I need to see the original MADAGASCAR movie to enjoy?
You’d need to have at least seen the third one to understand the circus scenes at the beginning/end of the movie, and to understand who Julian and Mort are.
But that’s only two scenes so not really, they fill you in on everything else.
The original Madagascar movie made it seem like the penguins have never been to Antarctica. They were all set on getting there and when they finally arrived their response was “this sucks.”
How does Dave disguise his appearance
Even though Dave is an octopus but I wonder how he managed to disguise himself as human.
I wonder if the sequel might include more characters from the Madagascar films.
Madagascar Series Continuity
I was happy that this one addressed that this one firmly established that it took place after the 3rd one.
Question is though when does the TV show take place
The creators considered the show to be non canon. In other words, they just wanted the penguin back in the zoo.
I do wish that alex, gloria, melman, and gloria would have appeared even though their shadows appear
The TV show is set in its own universe, according to the creators.
I recall in the trailer the penguins end up in Dublin., I’m curious as to how the country is portrayed> Can anyone give me a hint? They mistakenly think they are in Dublin… but they are actually in Shanghai. They Riverdance down the street in Shanghai. The Penguins danced at an Irish jig to cause a distraction to the octopuses so the North Wind agents could infiltrate the Dr. Octavius Brine’s HQ. They actually end up in Shanghai, thinking they’re in Ireland.
On the penguins moving from plot device to their own franchise
They almost didn’t make the first movie because they were just in that one scene. A way to give them job security was to embed them in the story, so we thought, “OK, they can inspire the zebra to escape the zoo and then they’re forever in the story and they can’t be cut! And, you know, as each film went by, people really loved the penguins, and it was easy because they were just pure comic relief and they didn’t have to support a story. But as we did three films and did three shorts and then they had their own TV show, we were able to develop the characters. And … each one of their personalities became much more distinct.
On making movies that appeal to both parents and kids
I remember in the days of Saturday morning, you could get up at 5:30 in the morning, eat your cereal with your dad and watch Bugs Bunny. And he would laugh at some jokes and you would laugh at others. There’s no reason a family can’t go to a movie together and enjoy it. And so parents aren’t watching their watches; there’s something for everybody in it.
How playing Skipper has changed his work as a film director
When we record animated films, I don’t know if most people realize this, we do all the voice work beforehand and then the animation is done afterwards based off that performance. So you’re working in isolation. You’re in a booth with no sets, there are no costumes. And you’re kind of vulnerable as an actor and you kind of need to know the context of the scene: you know, you’re being chased by 30 octopi, you enter the scene this way because this just happened. And so, in a way, it taught me to be a better director just from stepping in the shoes of recording voiceover.
One of the best movies of 2014. My kids liked it so much that they watched 4 more time. Everybody should watch it, because it one the best movies out there [bmoney1234567/MetaCritic]
