Patriots Day Review

Behind the Scene and other Major Plot Points
This is the third collaboration between Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg
.. since Lone Survivor (2013) and Deepwater Horizon (2016). This movie, like their previous collaborations, is also based on a true story.
The films script was merged by two separate scripts.
One was called “Boston Strong” and focused more on the action/thriller side of the story. Another was titled “Patriots Day” which was more of a factual drama. The final script was a mix of the two which would have the film be both factually correct and would have some tense action to keep the audience involved and entertained.
Recieved a standing ovation at the AFI Film Festival.
Native of Boston
Mark Wahlberg is an actual native of Boston. He was born in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester.
Movie was originally supposed to be
..about Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis’ experiences during the incident until it was merged with a proposed third movie Boston Strong to give a more general overview of the incident.
Casting of Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg was originally against making the movie, and turned down the role. He accepted after reading the script and realizing he would be one of the few actors who could make the movie right.
After David Ortiz’s speech
..the Boston Red Sox went on to win the World Series that year in 2013.
Casting of Melissa Benoist
Melissa Benoist first auditioned for the role of Jessica Kensy before being cast as Katherine Russell.
RT/Meta Critic Review
